Tell a friend Sudanese hip hop artist Emmanuel Jal

Emmanuel Jal

Before he became a hip hop artist, Emmanuel Jal had been a child soldier and a "Lost Boy" in Sudan. He now advocates for peace and works with the Campaign to Stop the Use of Child Soldiers. You can listen to Terry Gross’s interview with him on NPR’s Fresh Air. The interview includes excerpts of his music, which is both haunting and uplifting.
